I’m often asked how we bend baseboard, window casing, and even crown molding around curved walls in our homes. This photo shows us making a curved piece of 6” crown molding which is installed at our Model home. The process is roughly this. A template is made of the curved surface. In a large room, triangular wood brackets are laid to that shape and fastened to the floor. The crown mold to be curved is then sawn in approximately 35 individual strips lengthwise. These strips are then bent around the wood brackets and glued and pinned together to hold this shape. The final step is sanding down this reconstituted surface.
