The history of Dwight Yoder Builders, Inc. dates back over 40 years to 1955 when Henry Yoder began building custom homes throughout Summit and Stark counties in Northeast Ohio. Over the next 35 years Henry built several hundred homes. Employing a "hands-on" approach, he personally performed much of the actual work himself. It was not unusual to see this builder laying up the brick chimney, framing in the wood walls of the home, insulating the home's exterior walls and ceilings, hanging gypsum board, or installing the oak hardwood floors. As his son, Dwight Yoder grew up in the business learning and assisting at his father's side. Upon his father's retirement in early 1990, Dwight assumed full responsibility of the building business and today it operates according to the principles established by its founder; integrity and trust in all customer and employee relationships and uncompromising workmanship and materials throughout the construction of each home. Today Dwight now delegates most of the work to his team of contractors long associated with the company while personally supervising their day-to-day progress of each home. The company now builds 5 to 6 homes a year. Dwight is also a professional civil engineer and has consulted to state and local governments, residential and commercial developers, and private businesses.
